Halloween

Halloween it seems like we do the same thing every year kind of a repeat from last year, but still fun.  One day we may try something new and exciting but this year just a repeat from last year.  The kids got home and we got ready for Trunk or Treat it started at 5 this year, way to early Clint and Cole go home late from school (4:45 oh that another story) so they went straight from the bus to the van to head out trick or treating. Their costumes were so cute this year thanks to our awsome Aunt Rachie  they always get to pick out what to be Wyatt picked Clint and Cole to be his Owls since he was Harry Potter.  He is so obsessed!

Then after Trick or Treating we go over to our neighbors they invite us over for a hot dog roast, so great to just stop and grab dinner why you our our Trick or Treating.  It is fun they have 2 huge fires going and you just cook a hot dog and they have drinks and chips. It is such a fun way to end the night. Then home to sort candy ( I did not even get a photo of all the candy this year) and watch the Great pumpkin Charlie Brown.   

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is a family tradition always the Monday before Halloween this is what we do for family home evening.  This year we went and picked our pumpkins since none of ours grew very big.   It had been rainy and was super muddy but still fun to pick them out of the field.

Then we went home and started carving we were about half way done when the power went out- ahh but it was kind of fun we just lit a bunch of candles and lit the pumpkins that were done and kept carving.  We carved 10 pumpkins I know we are CRAZY!  Wyatt and Shay both did 3 then we did one for me and Nate and one for Clint and Cole.  Cole loved his pumpkin he could not quit kissing it - it was so funny.  

Family Photos

I think picture day is the most dreaded day of the year- at least for Nate!!  I love to get our family photos done and see how the kids have changed.  This year we met with my whole family for a big family photo- crazy how fast our family is growing I guess when you add them two at a time it really adds up.  Tiffany took our photos again she is so awesome.

Prepared

You can never be to prepared.  I thought this was too funny- the other night it was really stormy which always scares my kids!  They could not go to sleep and so we let them make beds on the floor in our room, the each got a flashlight in case the power went out, which it never did, just to be prepared.  I go up to bed a little later this is how I found Shay.  Sound asleep flashlight in both her hands - totally prepared for a disaster.  Oh I love her.

Birthday Party

Clint and Cole's birthday-  The day of their birthday I was feeling kind of bad - I had not really planned a party, Their cakes turned out super ugly, and I did not have a really great present for them.  Luckily for me they are super happy with anything and we just did some of their favorite things, Play in the pool, play with whip cream, blow bubbles. smash cake, and play outside  Sometimes the simplest things are the most fun, why do I have to keep learning that lesson over and over again?

Clint and Cole turn 5

I can't believe it is Clint and Cole's birthday today.  They are 5 wow time flies It has definatly been an adventful five years but I do feel like I have grow so much these last five years.  I hope I am a better person because of them- they are so sweet and have such unconditional love.  I'm still not sure why we blessed to get them to be in our family but am so grateful to have these choice spirits in our home.

First Day of School 2013

August 22, 2013 the first day school it is crazy how fast summer goes by.  The kids were excited to start school this year.  Wyatt is in 5th grade his last year in elementary.  He has Mr. Maughan this year and has a couple good friends in his class hopefully will be a great year for him.

Wyatt had to get glasses for school this year.

Shay is starting 3rd grade with Mrs. S. Anderson she is super excited, was so excited to wear her sparkly pink shoes the first day of school.  They match her personality!

Clint and Cole start kindergarten this year too.  They will do school all day part day kindergarten and part day Special Ed.  I am a little worried about that - but we will see how it goes.  

They have to eat lunch at school and all I can say to that is good luck to the aides.
Aunt Rach got them their cute barn lunch boxes.
