Sledding

It was finally warm enough this weekend to want to be out playing in the snow.  Friday after school the kids had friends over and they had a great time outside playing.  Nate got home from work and pulled them around on the sled.  Wyatt and Mark Wansguard had fun playing in the snow fort and then playing golf with orange balls so they did not get lost.

My favorite  was when I took out Clint for a bit to play.  It was so cute all the kids were watching out for him following the sled just in case he tipped over.  He is so lucky to have such great siblings and their friends are always so cute too.

Shay and Ada such darling girls!!
Saturday Nate took the kids ice fishing- ahh no photos but they had a great time even if they caught no fish.  Winter can be fun just not when it is so freezing cold.

no "smore" bad habits

For YW the girls came over to my house for a smore night.  It was cold when we got to my house at 7:15 it was already 0 degrees and getting colder.  The girls were such great sports- first we all wrote down some bad habits from last year and burned them in the fire.  Then set goals for 2013.  We did all this around a big fire drinking lots of hot coco and making smores.  Then the end of the night we set off some paper lanterns these represented our goals.  I have the best church calling I love my girls and love that I have a calling that makes me try to be a better person.  Even though we were all cold I thought it was a fun night.  I have to brag a little about my awsome husband.  He is so great to always help me with my stuff.  He went out and shovel all the snow out our fire pit, then went and got a bunch of dry wood, when we got there he had the fire started and  even made us a huge thermos of hot coco.  Plus he was watching the kids so I could just focus on my yw girls.  He is great I am a lucky girl!

Resolution

I know January is almost over and most of the yearly resolutions have been forgotten, but my resolution this year or Motto is from President Hinkley.

"Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight."

This is my plan for 2013 I know everyone has storms in their life and sometimes it is so easy to focus on them, but this year I want to enjoy the sunlight.  Mabey it is all this freezing weather that makes me want sunshine-  but really all I want is for me and everyone I love to be happy this year.  The major sunlight in my life is my wonderful family and husband.  I have a great life and so many blessings I hope I don't lose sight of that.  Thanks to everyone in my life you are my sunshine too, I don't know what I would do without my family, my friends, the gospel, my YW class filled with wonderful girls that I love, and to many other blessings to count.

Pinewood Derby

The pinewood derby is a fun scout night.  Wyatt wanted to make a pizza car this year.  He did the design and all of the painting himself.  He did a good job he won more races than he lost and had a great time. I think he had fun just hanging out with his friends and eating popcorn all night.

The leaders made these cute trophies for all the  kids, Wyatt won most artistic.

Shay was feeling bad because she wanted to race a car.  Nate is such a great dad he helped her build one and paint it and then that night she brought it and raced it a little bit before they started and while they were tallying up points.  She can't wait until the day they do a girls derby!

Holiday Catch Up

Wow the holidays have come and gone another year.  I will try to catch up all the fun and not so fun moments.  I took hardly any photos the whole Holdiay season I know I will regret this I am already feeling bad this is the first year I have no photos with Santa.  Shay did see Santa at the mall but I did not have my camera and that is the only time we saw him- he must have been busy!

Daugs Party on December 22nd
We had our Daugs family party at Ammon and Alison's house it so crazy how big our family is getting.  We barely all fit in their house.  I think there were over 50 people there.  It was a great party dinner, and lots of fun games, white elephant gifts, and just visiting with everyone.  I did not take my camera and this started the no photo theme of the Holidays.

Jamison Party on December 23rd
We did our traditional Christmas Eve party a day early this year.  We do dinner and then we draw Christmas names and so everyone shares their presents.  It is always so fun and so crazy!  There are now 12 grandkids and it gets pretty wild but is always so much fun.  The kids our all such great friends.  I did not take to many photos that night either.

Christmas Eve - we decided this year would be just our little family celebrating, but all our fun plans went south when Wyatt and Shay both started with the stomach flu that night.  So we pretty much just watched movies on the couch we did get in a fun game of "Life" which Shay got as a gift.

Christmas Day- Wyatt was feeling better but Shay was still pretty sick and so we had a hard time getting her out of bed she just wanted to sleep.  Finally about 8:00 Wyatt finally got her to come downstairs so he could open his gifts.  Wyatt loved his remote control helicopter and Wii games.  Shay's favorite was her stuffed horse I love that she still loves her stuffed animals it makes me think she is not growing up to fast!  Cole and Clint liked opening their presents a little more this year they got mostly like clothes and stuff they needed.  They did get some new fun toys like a music set and more toys that make noise.  The kids all got a trampoline to share- I was a little surprised Santa brought one after Shay broke her leg on one I did not think that would ever happen but I am so excited for spring- I had so much growing up playing all the time out on the tramp- I hope this one gets used that much!

New Years - We all got pretty bad colds after Christmas so on New Years eve Mom was feeling pretty bad so Nate and Wyatt and Shay went sledding up at the University Hill and then later that night went and played games over at Ammon's.  Then they went over to Ashtons for the ball drop and lighting of some paper lantens.  I went to bed about 9:00 so no photos taken.  New Years day I was so sick so Nate took me into Instacare and I had strep throat- so yucky.  Then then next day Nate took Wyatt and Clint in to the Dr.  Wyatt had a raging ear infection and Clint was starting with a sore throat and so the Dr put him and Cole on antibotic to prevent Strep.  So we did not really do anything fun the rest of the holiday season.  Poor Shay and Nate just had to play nurse and take care of all of us who were sick.  Hopefully when we all get feeling better we will have to plan something really fun to make up for our sickly holiday season.  That is after we sanitize our entire house and kill some of these germs.

Christmas Tree cutting

Every year since we have been married we have gone and cut down a Christmas Tree.  It is always fun, but this is the first year we have went in a rain storm. We went Friday when the kids got out of school and by time we got up in Immigration canyon it was pouring rain.  Luckily it was pretty warm so even though we were all soaked it really was not that cold.

There was just a little snow- enough for a snowball fight.  Then after hiking for a ways we found the perfect tree.  I think Wyatt and Shay's favorite part is yelling TIMBER!!  We survived another year this year Clint and Cole played with Grandma, they are getting pretty big to try to pack up the mountain.
