Shay's Birthday

Shay turned 8!  She is such a cutie!!  I am so glad she is in our family.  As you can see she got to get her ears pierced for her birthday!  She was so excited.  She did say it hurt but definately worth it.  Tricia made her cute skirt in the first photo that was so sweet of her.

Friday Feb 8th we did her birthday party. We did a birthday party after school.  She wanted a dolphin party- kinda crazy we made up some games and played in the snow and of coarse ate chocolate cake and ice cream.

She wanted a dolphin cake- this is what I came up with.

Kierra, Alexa, Emma, Brinlie, Enali, Shay, Sammy, Maddie
What a cute group of girls.

The girls loved painting the snow.

Later that night we went to Crystal Hot Springs with the Merritt Family.  I did not take any photos but we had great time.  Shay was nervous about the slide and so did not try it until right at the end and then she loved it so much!  She is already excited to go back!

Then on Saturday her official birthday we just opened a few presents before we headed to the polar plunge.  After the plunge we did a pizza party with the Gundersons.  Then later that day me and nate went to an Elders Quorem party so Aunt Rachie came over and they watched a movie.

more Polar plunge photos

These photos were on Cache Valley Daily.  Just thought I would show you why Shay won Most Petrified plunger.  Poor girl- I sure do love her!!  But she did win a cool IPod docking station.  Now she just needs an IPod.

Polar Plunge 2013

We did it- we took the plunge!!  Our team the Ice Angels raised a total of $560 for special olympics so awesome.  Our team was Christy, Nate, Shay- Wyatt decided to sit this year out- he was not feeling the greatest and it was freezing cold., Alyssa my 12yr old niece, and Nate and Naomi Gundersen.  It was a cold day 28 degrees outside they said the water was 34 degrees.  As you can see we all dyed our hair and wore angel wings.  It was so cold, but it really is invigorating!  We have such an awesome family  it was so nice of Nate and Naomi to drive up just to jump with us! Love you guys!  Alyssa loves Clint and Cole so much and would do anything for them.  It is amazing what you will do for your kids. Hope Clint and Cole know how very much they are loved!  We did not get the greatest photos hope we will find some better ones.  It was Shays birthday and so everyone sang to her right before she jumped.  She does not remember this- I guess she was to focused on the freezing water.  She also won the prize for the most petrified plunger- I think Naomi helped her win this because it was her yelling in the video.

Sledding

It was finally warm enough this weekend to want to be out playing in the snow.  Friday after school the kids had friends over and they had a great time outside playing.  Nate got home from work and pulled them around on the sled.  Wyatt and Mark Wansguard had fun playing in the snow fort and then playing golf with orange balls so they did not get lost.

My favorite  was when I took out Clint for a bit to play.  It was so cute all the kids were watching out for him following the sled just in case he tipped over.  He is so lucky to have such great siblings and their friends are always so cute too.

Shay and Ada such darling girls!!
Saturday Nate took the kids ice fishing- ahh no photos but they had a great time even if they caught no fish.  Winter can be fun just not when it is so freezing cold.
