The Bead

Oh I love my darling Shay- today I am at the hospital visiting my two cute new nephews when I get a call to come to the school because Shay is in the nurses office with a bead stuck in her nose. Yes a BEAD. So I hurry to the school and Shay is just hanging out in the office waiting. We worked on it for a little while and luckily when she blew hard enough the bead shot out of her nose. I was so worried she would be so embaressed but no she was kind of proud she went back to class and showed all the kids the bead and told them the whole story. I am still not sure how the bead got in there the only thing she said was she was smelling it. It is good we have kids to keep life interesting.

Santa

Oh it always so much fun to go and visit Santa each year. Well my kids have fun for me is crazy because I want the perfect pictures and I am trying to switch out kids and get group shot. Ah thanks Rachel for going and helping me! It was fun Cole got so excited he threw his arms and totally hit Santa in the face! His glasses almost went flying. So I thought we were done and were getting loaded in the stroller so I flip back through my photos and realize I did not get a single of Cole and the first one of Clint was he was not looking. So we ask Santa if we can take a few more. It is really good that Santa is such a jolly fellow, but I am sure he was relieved to see my family leave!

Thanksgiving weekend

One of our favorite traditions is the Saturday after Thanksgiving we always go and cut our Christmas tree down. This is the first time we have taken Clint and Cole with us, both me and Nate had to pack one on our backs which was quite the workout hiking through the deep snow but was so fun. They did great until the hike back, I think Cole was scared of the tree Nate was dragging behind him because he screamed the whole way back. He was so upset that Nate finally left the tree hiked Cole back out and put him in the truck and then hiked back for the tree. Wyatt and Shay had fun even though they got tired. I sometimes wonder why we do these crazy things that seem so hard at the time, but hopefully one day our kids will look back and have some really great memories.

Funny Thoughts

I just wanted to share some funny thoughts of my kids.
Wyatt woke up yesterday all upset and I was asking him what was wrong, he was like I had the most awful dream. So he tells me his dream. He was like I was at my Aunt Cindy's and she made us some pie and then she took us out to get some ice cream. So then he gets tears in his eyes he tells me the worst part of the dream was they did not have his favorite kind of ice cream! I guess he just like his dad for those that don't know Nate loves ice cream! I was just thinking how lucky we are that Wyatts worst dream is not to have ice cream!
Shay- yesterday we were driving in the car and one of her friends were talking and Shay was telling her all about her favorite books, and this friend is like I don't know how to read books yet. Shay was so funny in the most compassionate voice I have heard her use... She goes I am so so sorry that is awful! You can come over to my house and I will teach you how to read. I am trying not to laugh as then she starts teaching her while we are driving. Oh that girl.. who know mabey she will grow up to be a teacher. HaHa

Halloween Fun

I know it is a little after Halloween but I still wanted to post my kids cute costumes. We love Halloween thanks to Aunt Rachie who helps make the kids costumes every year. We just did the traditional Trunk o' treating at the church and then some Trick O' Treating around to some houses. Then the best part coming home and sorting the candy a tradition of Nate's family that has been passed down, to sort your candy and make some trades.

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is one of my kids favorite Halloween traditions. We grow our own pumpkins so they love picking out their pumkin and then watching it grow. This year Wyatt got first pick and of coarse he picked the biggest. It is always so much fun, and so messy. Clint and Cole were not to excited about this and so mom and dad carved theirs. Clints has a mean face because the whole time we were carving he was whining so we figured that meant he wanted a scary Halloween pumpkin!

What keeps up busy!

To get started on our family blog I thought I would just give you a quick update on our family and what everyone is up to.

Nate- Well Nate always stays very busy I think he has more hobbies than he has time. He is still working for UACD and seems to stay busy and enjoys the people he works with. He is such a great Dad, he always is there for his kids and goes to every game, dance recital, doctor apt. and anything else that he can. As for his hobbies he just finished up his fall pigeon racing and did really great. He loves having our small little farm and he has sheep, chickens, pigeons, ponies, bunnies, dogs, and a cat. See we really do have a petting zoo. He also loves hunting and fishing. He had a great fall hunting season shooting both a elk and a deer, and he had a big fishing trip in July going to Alaska. Nate also enjoys going on mountain biking trips with all the guys. His latest project is helping his dad put up a hoop house.

Christy-I am a busy mom of four kids it seems like that is what takes up all my time. With all 4 of them in school I do have a few hours to myself in the morning which is nice. I really should find a fun hobby! But for now I am excited about starting a blog, mabey having my house a little cleaner (just mabey no promises), and doing some projects. I am also in YW and love the girls and the ladies I work with. Wyatt is in 3rd grade and doing great. He loves his teacher and just all around enjoys school. Wyatt loves drawing and doing projects, he is taking an art class this fall which he loves and it has been so great for him. He loves helping his dad and grandpa work outside. He has this mind that loves to learn new things and explore how things work - he may be really into science like his Grandpa Don. He is such a great big brother to Clint and Cole (not always Shay!) but he would do anything to help his little brothers, He started scouts this fall and likes his scout troop.

Shay is in 1st grade and is my little drama mama I say that with the most love every. She keeps us on our toes as parents and keeps us smiling. She is loving reading, but not always school somedays she just wants to stay home. She is taking a dance class this fall. She loves all her stuff animals and will go and sing to them and read to them and talk to them. I love just hiding behing her door and listening to her carry on long convesations with them. Shay always has somethinf funny to say and I am sure I will share many "Shay comments" in this blog.

Clint and Cole are 3 now and are doing great. They are are "angels". In 2010 we found out they have Angelmans Syndrome, which is a rare genetic disorder. Although there are many days this is a challenge there are many more days we feel so blessed to have them. This year they are attending a preschool at Mountainside Elementary, they go 4 days a week for a couple hours. They even get to ride the bus!! There preschool teachers are great and we can already see improvements in them. The best thing about them is they are just always so happy, it can make my day just hearing them laugh.
