July 2013

July has been so crazy that I thought I would just do one quick post of all the fun we have had.  It seems like I did not take to many photos I guess I was just to busy having fun!  I may have stolen a few photos from other blogs so if I stole a photo from you thanks!

Gibson Reunion
The end of June is the annual Gibson Reunion. This is such a fun event that me and the kids look forward to every summer.  The Thatcher family was in charge this year and they had lots of fun activities planned.  We had lots of games, and stories, and talent show, duck races, and pinewood derby.  The derby was great fun, Dan and Brody won first, Layne and his boys second, Wyatt took 3rd and then uncle Kim got 4th.  It was so great to see all the kids cheering for Uncle Kim I think he was the definite favorite.

Grandpa Don's Birthday Party

Jill threw Don a surprise birthday party for his 79th birthday.  I am so glad she was able to surprise his of course it was great to see all the family and the cousins got to play for a bit.  It was a fun party Jill had a fishing pond for the kids, and some trivia games for adults, a tug of war contest, and outside games, and a yummy lunch, She had everyone write memories of Don and made a fun memory book for him.

4th of July Weekend

On the 3rd we went to Logan fireworks.  Then on the morning of the 4th Nate and a bunch of friends went to Alaska Nate did not take a camera so I will have to find some photos of that trip.  On the 4th me and Alison took all the kids to the Hyrum parade that was as first for us NOT sure how we have never done that before since it was such a fun parade.

It was so how every time the kids got a water bottle they would just dump it on their heads.   Yes Shays hair is blue we dyed the ends for July.

Cole and Clint got pretty hot too and were cooling off just holding ice bottles.  Luckily some nice family felt bad for us and let them under their shade tent, we started off in the corner but when the sun would move they would all squish together to make room for them in the shade.  Sometimes it really does you heart good to realize their are such kind people, ahh but next year I will be smarter and bring my own umbrella.

Later that night we all hit the Hyrum fireworks.

Luckily Addison and Alison are so great to always help with Clint and Cole they can be a handful to take place at time, I am so glad people are willing to help so we don't always have to stay home.

Boise trip

July 5th Grandma Jill Jamison called and talked us into joining them on a little road trip to Boise Idaho to go to the horse races.  So we drove to Rupert Idaho and that was a crazy drive the weather was so bad - rain and crazy wind when we got there we heard there was a tornado warning so glad we made it safe.  From there we rode with my mom and dad to Boise.  We just got to hotel and the kids swam and played.  Day 2 we got up and swam some more then went to LeBois Park to watch there horse run.

This is their horse Dreamin to Fly.  It won its race which was great and my parents won around $5000.  Then we headed for home it was around 10 p.m. when we left the track only about 10 min into our drive my parents car had some issues the water pump when out.  So after a couple hours of trying to get the car fixed and a tow truck and all that fun stuff. we ended up staying another night in Boise.  In the morning my parents rented a car to drive me back to Rupert to get my car and they had horse races there for the day.  Then they drove back to Boise to wait until Monday when their car could get fixed.

The kids were so tired after that crazy night, but they did so aw some driving all that way.

July 2oth Mantua Fireworks

We got invited to go to the fireworks in Mantua and since we had never been there we decided to try something new.  It was so great we got to sit on Buzz's parents law which was right under the fireworks.  We could see where they were lighting them.  The kids tho thought it was great.  Even  Clint and Cole were watching them and every time they went off Clint would just laugh.  It was so cute.

Crayfishin July 22

I think this has to be a total redneck thing to do- but every year a bunch of people from Nate's work all meet at Hy rum Dam and go craw fishing.  This year Ada came with us.  You just hook some meat on your fishing pole and wait until they hook up and then pull them in the kids were having fun trying to catch them and helping to net each others,

After a fun night of fishing Ada got to have a sleep over and so the kids all wanted to sleep out on the tramp but only if I would slay out there with them.  Ahh  that is not as fun as I remember as a kid.

Camping trip July 23-24

July 23-24 we decided to go on a quick little overnight camping trip.  Just  our family went and we had a great time.  We went up Blacksmith Fork Canyon and had a great  little spot right by the river.  We just played games and went for a drive to look for deer, then in the morning Wyatt and Nate hiked up the mountain to try and roll down some big boulders.  Me and Shay just  played around camp.  Then we came home. around lunch.

Preston Parade.  July 25th

Preston Rodeo and Parade is a tradition ever since I was a kid and now it is fun to do with my kids.  On Thursday we went up to the parade and the carnival.

It was super hot but we watched the parade then all the kids went  over to the carnival. We tried to take Clint and Cole on some rides but it did not work very well- It was just too crowded and they would just try to climb off the rides.  Me and Nate left  pretty early but Wyatt and Shay stayed with their Aunts and they are having a sleep over at Grandmas until Sat when we go back up to the Rodeo.
