Christmas Tree cutting

Every year since we have been married we have gone and cut down a Christmas Tree.  It is always fun, but this is the first year we have went in a rain storm. We went Friday when the kids got out of school and by time we got up in Immigration canyon it was pouring rain.  Luckily it was pretty warm so even though we were all soaked it really was not that cold.

There was just a little snow- enough for a snowball fight.  Then after hiking for a ways we found the perfect tree.  I think Wyatt and Shay's favorite part is yelling TIMBER!!  We survived another year this year Clint and Cole played with Grandma, they are getting pretty big to try to pack up the mountain.

Festival of Lights

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend- I hardly took any photos, but we just stayed in Logan and it was nice to not have to travel.  On Friday we did go up to Preston to visit my family.  Later that night we went into Preston and ate dinner and then went to the Festival of Lights.  I love Christmas Lights and this is such a fun way to start off Christmas.  First was a firework show, and then a fun parade, and then the all of the Christmas lights on  main street get turned on.

The cousins, Dylon, Taylor, Shay, Shad, Wyatt, Alyssa

stairs vs. elevator?

I think stairs are great exercise, but after this weekend I am so grateful for elevators!!  Thursday and Friday Nate had some meetings in Provo, so we took the kids out of school and did a little mini-vacation.  Did I take any photo- no not one. We had a great trip and lots of fun, but here are my two elevator vs. stairs stories.
1st- I took the kids swimming at the hotel Friday morning- yes by myself which was a little scary but we did great with Clint and Cole in their puddle jumpers (oh I love those things!)  Anyhow why we were swimming the power went out, there was a skylight so we were OK but I was ready to be done anyhow so we got ready to go back to room.  With the power outage the elevators were not working.  So after waiting like 5 minutes in the hall with freezing wet kids and Clint was crying because he wanted to stay in the pool,  I decided to do the stairs- and of coarse we were on the 6th floor so here I am trying to pack two wet slippery kids up 6 flights of stairs.  Wyatt and Shay were trying to pack up all our floaties and life jackets.  We did make it and we passed many people on the stairs but the only one who offered to help was this cute grandma who offered to help pack some floaties.
2nd - After getting ready we then went to Trafalga for the day.  While their the kids wanted to miniature golf, well it is up on the 3rd floor and of coarse the elevator their was broken.  Clint and Cole were in their stroller and I thought with me and Wyatt we could get them up their in the stroller, we did pretty good going up and then we golfed and then it was time to go down.  I thought I was strong enough to bring the stroller down so I am going backwards and pulling it and the stairs were pretty steep and the stroller got going so fast that I could not hold it ( It did have 60lbs in it, I am not just a total wimp!)  So it is crashing in to me and I am getting pushed down the stairs at a very high speed and I am screaming for Wyatt to help me. We did finally get stopped with out crashing I am sure that was a bumpy ride for the boys.  But again did anyone offer to help no!
This taught me two lessons - 1st I better start lifting weights!  2nd- I better start watching for people who need help and when I see someone offer my help!
Anyhow next time you take the stairs think of me

Halloween 2012

I love Halloween I know so many people hate it, but for I don't!  I am very lucky because we have Aunt Rachie who makes our costumes.  The funnest part is for the kids to decide what to be- This year we went with Loony Toons.  Wyatt -Elmer Fudd , Shay- Buggs Bunny, Clint-Daffy Duck, Cole Peppy LaPue

Cole loved cruisin around in his walker-
I wish I would have got a photo of his cute skunk tail.
I picked the kids up from school and we went in and Trick o'Treated at Nates Work, then we went and say Rachie at JoAnn's so she could show off her costumes.  Then it was time to head to the Ward Trunk O'Treat.  There are always so many kids and fun costumes.  Then we always go and hit a few families around the ward and from our old ward.  Then our neighbors have started the best tradition they do a dinner at their house.  You can stop by and roast a hot dog and they have drinks and chips- Thanks Zilles family it is so great to not have to worry about dinner!!  Then we came home to watch the great Pumpkin Charlie Brown while Wyatt and Shay sort candy. What a great night.  I decided why I like Halloween so much it is just a fun night to see so many of your friends and visit with people, plus all that chocolate -how can that be a bad holiday?

Can you ever have to much candy?

Clint - this is why they don't get candy to often!

Cole- Yummy!

Halloween Party

On Sat the kids wanted to have Halloween parties.  We decided this year since they wanted to do such different things to have a girl and a  boy party so we started at 10:30-12:00 for a girls witch's tea.

Girls that came- Emma and Clair Turpin, Shay, Ada, Sammy, and Emma Crockett. It was so much fun with all these cute little witches.  We did some dancing and then did glitter pumpkins, Halloween frames, painted nails and  made hair bows.  Then we had some snacks and played a couple quick games.  These are some darling girls

Then had a quick break where we ate lunch cleaned up one party and set up another then at 1:30-3:00 the boys came over.

Zach and Isiac Sessions, Ben Crockett, Ada and Shay, Wyatt, James Merrit, Josh Skidmore, and Mark Wangsguard (not in photo).  It is so crazy the difference between girl and boy parties- I was glad it was such a nice day and we could play outside for the party.

We painted pumpkins and played  pop the balloon tag, we did halloween fruit basket, and snacks and then freeze dancing.  It was a great party Wyatt has a great group of friends it was so fun to have all these cute boys come over.  But man after two parties I was so tired!!

Carving Pumpkins

Clint loved sticking his head in the pumpkin

Wyatt's happy pumkin

Shay wanted a scary one this year

Clint

Cole

Nate made an alien pumpkin

Moms was the poka dot pumking
Carving pumpkins is always a fun traditions my kids love.  Saturday Night we decided to get them done.  It was fun and messy as usual.  Clint was the funniest every time we put the pumpkin by him he tried to stick his head in it or pull out seed and put in his mouth I was wishing we had a giant pumpkin this year he could have fit in.

Gibson Girls Night

Oct 12-13
All the girl cousins on my moms side (there are 8 of us) and 6 aunts met and had a girls weekend.  We had so much fun.  I am so blessed to grow up with amazing aunts who have always supported me and loved me, and I have some of the funnest cousins that are now some of my best friends and of course my awesome sisters Who are amazing!

At Aunt Sarah's house

At big rock- All the cousins, Jane, Me, Tricia, Angie, Stephanie,
Stacey, Kami, Cindy

my family
Friday night we met and went to dinner and then we all went and stayed at my Grandpa Gibson's house, he has been gone for 3 years but his house has stayed exactly the same and so is so fun to go back and visit.  That night we made these fun memory boxes where everyone had to bring something to put in each others box that reminded us of what was going on in our lives.  Then we played a game of matching each person to a song they brought that has a memory associated with it.  Then we just sat around and talked, cried, and laughed until 4 in the morning.
The cute Aunts- Roxi, Ty, Mira, Echo, Jill
Sat we got up and played some more games and then went on a 4-wheeler ride of places that hold memories for the family, we went and walked on the black pipe and drove up to the cemetery were grandma helped research all the names and provided a headstone for all the little children in their.  Then over to Aunt Sarah house, and then up to big rock to have a picnic lunch, then we drove over to Zollinger house.  Zollinger house has some great ghost stories that go along with it is scary to go their, not to bad in the middle of the day but so scary at night!  It was so fun to ride around all afternoon it was a cold day and we got rained on and where all so dirty after being wet and driving around on dirt roads  but it was so worth it.
Then we went back to grandpa and just snacked and made honey candy and watched some old family videos.  We just played a few more games and had dinner and visited and I did not get home until 1:00 a.m. that night.  It was the best weekend!!  I can't wait till next year since we decided this has to be an annual event.

Wyatt's field trip

Wyatt's class got to go on a fun SL field trip.  Luckily I was able to go along as a parent helper, thanks to Nate who took the day off of work to stay home with Clint and Cole.  Another bonus was we did not have to ride on the bus so just us and the Stephanie and Hannah Stracke drove down together.

First stop This is the place.  We just walked around and explored a little they did a little school of how things were then and showed us how the kids us to get paddled at school Wyatt thought that was a little crazy, then they got to push handcarts, dance in the dance hall which was fun for mom to dance with Wyatt, and then ride the train. We then had a picnic lunch.

Second stop we went to Hoogle Zoo their they broke us up into small groups we just had four in our group and we had a great time walking around and reading about all the animals.  I am so glad I got to spend the day with Wyatt he is growing up so fast and soon these opportunities will be gone. Thanks Alison for reminding me how important it it for me to go!
