Family Yellowstone Vacation- Me, Nate, Wyatt and Shay went to Yellowstone for the weekend. Clint and Cole stayed home with Grandma and Aunt Cindy a big thanks for watching them!! Day one we drove to Jackson Hole and went on the Alpine Slides this is a favorite with the kids. This is the first year Wyatt rode his own car down, he went pretty slow but still had a great time. Then we walked through the shops in Jackson and ate dinner. That night we stayed at a friends cabin in Star Valley which was so much fun the kids loved exploring around and sleeping on the bunkbeds.

Day two we drove to Yellowstone and stopped at all the stops. Old Faithful is always one of the favorites it was fun this time and the kids were older so they loved looking at everything. Wyatt wanted to read every sign and learn about everything he is a little scientist. Shay just loved seeing the animals and walking everywhere holding her dads hand. |

2nd night we stayed at a hotel in West Yellowstone. The whole reason we stay there is the slide, after riding in the car all day the kids love swimming and going down the slide a hundred times. The water was pretty cold so me and nate only went down a couple of times. |

Day 3 we went back into Yellowstone and finished driving around the park. One of our first stops was at the snow so the kids could have a snowball fight. Then we went to the petrified tree and the falls, even though we were in the mountains it was so hot! We were all cooking after hiking down to see the Falls. |

This is the only bear we saw just this cute little cub, not sure where his momma was but he sure was cute. |

Last stop was at Yellowstone Lake, after being hot all day we thought it would feel good to play in the water for a bit before we started the long drive home, we were wrong. The water was freezing!! We had contests who could keep their feet in the longest or wade out the farthest. It definately cooled us off and we were ready for the ride home. It was a wonderful relaxing trip. It is so nice to go with the older kids and get to spend time playing with them. I know I should feel guilty leaving Clint and Cole behind but it was so nice to get away for a couple days with no bottles, diapers or strollers.! |
Christy, you are amazing. Don't feel guilty. Sometimes you need a little break, and there's nothing wrong with that. You don't need to be supermom (even if you are darn close).
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I am glad you guys had such a good time and I agree with Amber don't feel guilty you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you were able to go. You need to have those breaks and especially not feel guilty about them. You need them for your sanity. You deserve it. Yellowstone is a great place to make memories with your family.
